For the past 30 years, Torontonians have enjoyed a mix of the Irish classics, contemporary Irish scripts and two original plays by young Irish American playwrights. Launched in the old Landsdowne Avenue premises of the Irish Immigrant Aid Society on March 18, 1975, to give Irish actors the opportunity to present the riches of their culture. Since then, the group has produced over 60 plays. Though membership originally consisted solely of first generation Irish emigrants, it has expanded to include second and third generations.
