Founded in 1999, Obsidian Theatre Company is a professional, ethnically-based, repertoire theatre company whose work focuses primarily on plays by playwrights of AfriCanadian descent. Obsidian Theatre (OTC) is a company passionately dedicated to the exploration, development and production of the Black voice on the world stage.
The 2002/2003 season included: Honouring The Word (public readings); a workshop production of Heaven (Cheryl Foggo), mainstage productions of The Piano Lesson (August Wilson) and Whylah Falls (George Elliot Clarke).
