The Barrie region has lots of fascinating natural attractions. Camp at one of the national or provincial parks or check out the magnificent municipal green spaces.
There's lots to do, if you want to get out of town. There is lots to do nearby. You can explore the recreational trails in the region, some of which include the Bruce Trail, connecting Tobermory with Niagara Falls, and some are part of the Trans-Canada Trail system. You can also check out the role of First Nations in the area, at with several historical attractions in Midland or by visiting Christian Island near Pentanguishene.
