The Theatre Centre was founded in 1979 by a co-operative of six independent theatre companies, focuses on theatrical exploration, and are now housed in an 1890 building the Great Hall Centre which contains a 150-seat theatre, with main and lower levels. The stage is 30 wide by 44 feet deep, and has a ceiling of 17 ft.
