Performance Venue: Harbourfront Music Garden Ampitheatre
Harbourfront Music Garden Ampitheatre416-973-4000 475 Queen's Quay West (between Bathurst Street & Spadina Avenue) TTC: Take the Spadina 510 streetcar south from the Spadina subway station or the LRT Harbourfront Line going west from Union Station. The waterfront Music Garden's design interprets in nature Bach's First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello, with each dance movement within the suite corresponding to a different section in the garden. Two Canadian artists created special features for the Music Garden. Tom Tollefson, architectural blacksmith, fabricated the Music Pavilion, and Anne Roberts, Feir Mill Design Inc., designed the Maypole. The Toronto Music Garden is open year-round and there is no admission fee. The Toronto Music Garden is wheelchair-accessible. Harbourfront Centre is a year-round facility, featuring concerts, dance performances, readings, films and kids' shows every weekend and many week nights throughout the year. The centre puts a large emphasis on culturally diverse acts, and the corporate community's involvement enables an incredible draw of international talent. Harbourfront Centre has 12 major venues for music, dance and cultural events, in and around two major multi-use buildings. The Queens Quay Terminal houses a wide variety of shops and services. The York Quay Centre houses an art gallery, installations, the Lakeside Terrace, a patio and an information booth. There is also a large pond that doubles as a seasonal, outdoor skating rink.
